Note : I don't know why I've got two "hello" posts here - bear with me, I'm still learning!!
I'm just giving you a quick shout out and wishing welcome to probably a completely pointless blog. Somehow, I have to link together the ultimate Timelord to a small coffee bean that originated in Ethiopia. How the hell I'm going to manage that I haven't a clue. But, by God, I'll try!
So, to start : Doctor Who. I fell in love with Doctor Who back in the Tom Baker days. There was something about his insane ramblings that drew me in. I even got my mam to knit me a multi-coloured scarf like he wore just so I could be cool like him. It was also the time I fell into an eternal hatred and fear of the Cyberman. Seriously. Whenever they came on screen I'd quickly dive for my little hidey-hole and not come back out until they'd gone. I was terrified of them.
Hey come on. I was only 6!! Wearing a multi-coloured scarf was cool at that age and being scared of the Cyberman was totally acceptable for a child.
One thing that never happened then - which I wish it had - was coffee. Being terrified as I was, a hot steaming cup of coffee would have been the perfect pick me up for a 6 year old, but my parents just wouldn't allow it. Vodka, yeah. But the coffee eluded me until my mid teens.
And you know what? I absolutely hated it. Ha! Seriously, I did. However, living in a house full of coffee lovers, I couldn't really shy away from it. I remember one day my older brother telling me that girls really loved guys who drank coffee and if I wanted to be a hit with them, then I should get drinking it.
So I did and slowly, but surely, it began to grow on me. Today, a nice hot cup of coffee while watching my latest DVD of Doctor Who is probably my greatest love in life. After my kids. Oh, and just in case she ever visits this blog herself, I'd best say after Mrs Howling Timelord too!!
Anyway, as I say, just a quick shout out of hello and I really hope you hang around for a while until I can get on my feet and get things sorted here! Bye for now!
